Getting to Casa Gratitud: Boat Access, Beach Walk & Jungle Stairs
Yelapa is a boat-only village, and arriving at Casa Gratitud is part of the experience. The house is an elevated jungle villa with ocean and mountain views, not beachfront.
From the water taxi or private boat, get off at the pier next to Café Bahia, on the far right of the bay. Your local hosts, Felipe and Yanet, meet guests there and help with luggage.
The route to the house has two parts:
Walk about 10 minutes along sand and cemented rock from the pier. Then take the private cemented stairs up to the villa for several minutes.
Many guests love this jungle walk. It is quiet and shaded in stretches, and it is how you earn those Yelapa views. Take your time. Rest when you want. Helpers from Felipe and Yanet’s team routinely assist with bags, especially in heat or after a long travel day. We do not publish an exact stair count. Pace varies, and honesty matters more than a number.
There is no elevator and no step-free route. Elevation is the trade for privacy and the vista.
At night, bring flashlights or use strong phone lights for the beach stretch. There are no streetlights on that walk.
