Peso converter
Prices in Yelapa are in pesos, and many places take cash only. Type an amount to see it in US or Canadian dollars, euros, or pounds, or tap Swap direction to go the other way.
The rate comes from the European Central Bank and updates each business day. The converter saves the latest rate on your phone, so it still works with no signal.
Google Translate
The Google Translate app is the one to have here: it works offline once you download Spanish, reads menus and signs through your camera, and has a conversation mode for talking with a boat captain or a waiter.

Before you leave Puerto Vallarta, download Spanish while you're on Wi-Fi:
- Open the Translate app.
- Tap the language at the top of the screen.
- Tap Download next to Spanish.
Spanish then shows as Downloaded, and you can translate with no signal.
