Yes. Yogalove Yelapa is an open-air studio in the village, close enough to the water that recent students say you can hear the ocean while you practice. Reviewers in 2025 describe different teachers on different days, with styles such as yin, and a posted list of the classes on offer. Check its Google Maps listing for the current schedule and contact details.
Some yoga studios in Yelapa close in the low season, so if you're visiting early or late in the season, confirm before you go.
What does Pura Vida offer?
Pura Vida is a wellness retreat on the beach near Playa Isabel, a calm cove on the west side of Yelapa. Its website lists:
- Daily movement and meditation sessions, with an outdoor yoga deck stocked with mats, props, and blankets
- An ocean-water infinity pool and a watsu hot tub
- A juice and smoothie bar at the front desk
- Plant-based buffet meals, with vegan and gluten-free options
- Temazcal (traditional sweat lodge) ceremonies
- Group, custom, and men's retreats, plus retreats run by visiting teachers
If you stay overnight at Pura Vida without joining a program, its FAQ says you're welcome at the morning yoga and mindfulness class and the evening meditation on the days they run.
Does Pura Vida sell a day pass?
Pura Vida has usually sold a day pass, but its current website doesn't list one. Email them through the contact page on their site to ask what's available during your dates before you walk over.
Where can you get a massage in Yelapa?
Your best bets are the retreat center and hotel spas.
- Pura Vida lists one-hour sessions of relaxing, hot stone, and deep tissue massage, plus reflexology, watsu (warm-water bodywork), reiki, breathwork, and herbal body wraps. Its site describes these as treatments for its guests and retreat participants, so ask whether outside visitors can book.
- Verana, a jungle retreat hotel, lists a spa menu with massage and reflexology, plus yoga every morning in its yoga palapa. Its site frames these around a stay, so ask first if you aren't a guest.
When are yoga retreats held in Yelapa?
